About Time (2013) ★★★★ (4/5)

I always have a fear in the back of my mind when I see time travel films that the time travel aspect is going to disappoint, and/or frustrate me. It often does. I can’t say I didn’t find a few little problems with the time travel in this one, but I also feel like it wasn’t that important.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen a romantic comedy, you have no idea. I usually don’t like ‘em all that much, I’m more of a sad and slightly gross films kinda lad. But I’ve gotta say, this one delivered. The time travel was a nice twist, especially because of the otherwise mundane setting. Cute and fluffy from start to end pretty much.

Instead of posting the ramble I just originally wrote about time travel, I’m going to just say that I disagree with some of the aspects of time travel in the film, and it’s why I didn’t give it five stars. Time travel is a very important thing to me ok, it needs to be done correctly. Most of the time it was done right, but some of it was not.

I never know how to end these? Overall it was real good. Job well done Richard Curtis!

Labyrinth (1986) ★★★★ (4/5)

Now, it must be said that I LOVE terriblegreat 80s movies. Some movies just seem to be made so you can laugh at the bad effects and the dramatic acting, and this is one of them. I absolutely love it.

This movie was great from the talking worms to David Bowie’s tights. Tbh there isn’t much else to say, other than I highly recommend it.

Cw: Suicide, death, and mental illness.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012) ★ (3/5)

This movie was pretty ok. Well first off, I thought that Nikki was dead the WHOLE TIME. I thought everyone were just lying to him and that was why he was a) so obsessed with her, and b) everyone acted so fucking weird every time he mentioned her. I was so sure that in the beginning of the shower scene it looked like she was dead. I think I’ve watched one too many films about mentally ill people with delusions (that about every movie that has a psychiatric hospital in it). Anyway, that was just me reading into things too much.

So the movie, what did I think? It was okayyyyy. I can’t really pinpoint what I didn’t like about it? There just wasn’t anything that really stood out to me that much It was exactly what I expected apart from Nikki being alive (which is if you’re worried about spoilers, not actually a thing, I think it was just me).

ps. jlaw’s acting wasnt worth that oscar <333333
